Unless people think Old Garp would fold Kaido, I don't see how Luffy loses

G5 Luffy is the best against blunt force and Garp is like all blunt force, I don't see how Luffy doesn't win.

@prime10000: If by Base Luffy you mean Gear Two/Three (as in Red Roc) Luffy then I think it's certainly possible Luffy could win especially due to match up.

As I don't think Luffy would need Gear 4 or Gear 5 to defeat Old Garp. But either way it'd be a hard fight especially emotionally if in character for the fight.

I'm going to assume this is Luffy with G5 and ACoC.

As things stand right now there's not enough feats for Garp to paint a precise picture of how a fight would play out.

I can at least say that neither one is getting stomped by the other.

Luffy is certainly not beating Garp in base form though. Luffy in base form would be fighting using ACoC punches and kicks like he did against Kaido.

If there's one thing Garp's feat in chapter 1080 taught us it's that when it comes to ACoC mastery, Garp is on another level compared to Luffy and even Kaido. Any kind of ACoC clash between Luffy and Garp, Garp is coming out on top.

G2 and G3 would allow Luffy to fair somewhat better, but they weren't enough to beat Kaido so I don't believe they're enough to beat Garp either.

Luffy needs G4 and G5 stat boosts to compensate for the ACoC mastery difference. With these forms I think Luffy is at the very least equipped to deal with Garp.

With gear 5 , wich is basically the bane of characters who rely on brute strenght. Luffy most likely wins , unless he runs out of it then , its garp.

Garp is 78. I think it would go similar to Raleigh vs Kizaru where its close but the old guy tires out faster and loses....but to be fair Luffy doesn't have the best track record for lasting long in fights

I mean that was a goated move but what suggests it has more AP than the ACOC attacks Hybrid Kaido hit Base Luffy with?

@nassergrant19: Mainly it’s DC and the size of the area it affected, overall tho Garp mainly scale to them base off the fight with Aokiji even tho Kaido is stronger than him and probably beats Old Garp too but not Luffy who was still weaker than Kaido in Gear 4 enough to say he lose to Garp who is closer to Kaido imo

I don’t think the Akainu scaling is enough imo. I don’t really have old WB as physically strong as Kaido tbh.

Garp wins. His ACoA is unmatched at the moment, and his ACoC is insane as well. At best I'd say they're comparable in Conqueror's, with Garp having a massive Armament advantage, and it's unknown the extent of his Observation but he wouldn't have been able to fight Roger on equal terms if he couldn't deal with Future Sight so that's not too big of an issue either. The speed he showed on Hachinosu is more than enough to keep up with anything short of Snakeman at least; I think that blitzing Marco out of the air and giving him an injury that lasted post-war is impressive as well on both a strength and speed level, and consistent with blitzing Kuzan twice. Garp also scales directly above Rayleigh, who kept Kizaru from taking out the Straw Hats; chances are high that Kizaru will be relative or superior to Gear 4th this arc.

If Kiz kicked him away i think garp is walking away with something here against G4, i just have some serious doubts about him being capable of continuing to fight after taking internal destruction

Luffy takes it with G4 Acoc King Kong Gun

Garp is below Kuzan and Kizaru. Kuzan was clearly mentally nerfed in that fight and still tanked all his Acoc blows decently.

Garp doesn’t have the AP to put down Luffy and it makes it worse that all he has is blunt force.

Acoc Snakeman barrage to disorient him and Acoc King Kong Gun seals the deal.

Old garp power can't stop an endurance beast like luffy,

While luffy has speed and power to beat down a Fragile Garp,

Old Garp is weak imo. G4 luffy can take him but like old garp didn't go all out so hard to say
