Respect Taskmaster

No Caption Provided

Biography

Antonia Dreykov, daughter of General Dreykov, was severely injured in an assassination attempt and turned into Taskmaster via a control chip that gave her photographic reflexes. As the Red Room’s enforcer, she was sent to hunt Yelena Belova, who possessed the Red Dust capable of freeing other Black Widows. This mission brought her face-to-face with Natasha Romanoff, the one who had nearly killed her years ago. After Dreykov's death and the Red Room’s fall, Antonia was exposed to the Red Dust, breaking free from mind control and beginning her path to recovery.

Nice work! How do you explain her loss to Nat in the second fight?

@calclord: I think it's a half-win for Natasha since she got the better of the exchanges, but it was the red dust that stopped the fight, not Natasha. I would still keep Taskmaster above her in my skill ranking though, because she has more variety in her fighting styles which probably means she matches up better against more mutual opponents, if they were to have any.

@thesubline: I remember her hud flickering when Nat let her out of the prison cell, possibly showing it was damaged. I don't remember if it did that the whole movie or just at the end though.

Awesome man!! Looking forward to the updates once thunderbolts comes out.

@calclord: I seem to remember a scene where taskmaster hesitates when given an order, I could be wrong haha I'll have to re watch it but I remember thinking that she might have been somewhat breaking out of her control a small amount. I'll update you if I find it.

@calclord: That makes sense, I imagine the explosion she endured right after that probably made it worse too.

@thesubline: Nice. Her blocking bullets in the Thunderbolts fight reminded me of Steve blocking Bucky's bullets at the end of TWS on the Helicarrier. Also, do you still think she's more skilled than Nat, considering her performance against Walker vs Yelena's?

@calclord: I still think Taskmaster would get the better of Natasha/Yelena (regardless of stats), simply due to the familiarity with their style that she has. Walker fight was too short for me to draw major conclusions from, especially since TM seemed to be improving later in the fight, which is what I would expect given the technology and photographic reflexes she has.

Natasha is probably more "skilled" than her but a less effective fighter. You could argue variables like TM's predictive technology in her mask or her ability to prepare for specific techniques better (assuming she has footage to observe) are advantages that aren't really indicators of "skill", but they're also impossible to isolate from her performances.
