It's been a few hours; API is throwing 500s.
A page with the service status and a summary of what's going on wouldn't hurt.
API throwing 500s for hours now?
@andrelopes: And I'll second your suggestion
Isn't all of the information in it user submitted anyway? What's to prevent somebody from making their own version of this that works?
@chrishadley: The only thing I can think of to prevent that is a large amount of work.

This means you're volunteering, yes?
I opened a ticket by emailing support@comicvine.com on Wednesday. I verified that a ticket was created at comicvinehelp.zendesk.com, but I have not received an update yet.
@khameleon05: I did a ticket too. I'm an infrastructure guy, I can build and host a server, and probably run software that somebody else wrote...
@thecollectorx: ABSOLUTELY!
@unclerandy1969: nice :)
@gvc: 0.9.178 was the last version before the project was abandoned by the original developer. Nowadays, the community has taken over development and you can find the latest version of the Community Edition here: https://github.com/maforget/ComicRackCE If you scroll down that page a bit you'll find a section that details the steps you need to upgrade from ComicRack to ComicRackCE. You can also find a list of plugins at the bottom of that page.
@hyperspacerebel: Thanks!!!!
Now, just waiting API is on again
@thecollectorx: I use it for Calibre.
@tatsumasadf: Same. I've been getting the 500s for two days now. What sucks more is my project (ComiXed) has a big release scheduled for next week and we have a bug around scraping that can't be worked on till CV is update and running again. :(
@mcpierce: oh i head about that one cant wait to try it
@chrishadley: is anyone getting any responses to the tickets that have lodged? There doesn’t seem to be any acknowledgement even within the forums from the people who can fix this.
I found out about Metron thanks to this API outage. It's a comic book database that's been worked on for a while now and has an API. I've seen Mylar and Kavita are looking into adding support for it, not sure about anyone else.
Currently you can use it with some versions of ComicTagger.

I've been going through and adding a bunch of data to it so I can tag my whole library.
Anyone who wants to help out or has any questions can get in touch here: https://matrix.to/#/#metrondb:matrix.org
@nerrad: Nothing, my ticket hasn't been assigned a priority so I'm guessing it hasn't even been looked at
