Q: How can I un-block my home IP address?

I have spent the last few months assuming the ComicVine API was down for everyone, only to check the page from a different location and realizing it was just my home IP address that's blocked.

I'm not aware of what I did that would have had my IP address blocked, but it coincided with me trying to upgrade from one version of Mylar to another. My guess is it tried to re-update my entire library's metadata, exhausting a rate limit repeatedly without my knowledge.

If there's anything I can do to remove this restriction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply, @killerz

It looks like I haven't posted enough comments to post a screenshot, but if I visit any comicvine link from my home IP address - including the forum, the API page, or just comicvine.gamespot.com, I get:

Access to comicvine.gamespot.com was denied

You don't have authorization to view this page.

HTTP ERROR 403

If I connect to a VPN, or connect via my phone's data plan, those same links works fine. I had assumed that meant my IP address had been banned by ComicVine. If you can't ban IPs then I'm very confused as to what's happening.

Try checking if comicvine isn't in your home network's blocklist/blacklist.
