The Metal Army (blog story)

On the barren wasteland planet of Melton, Darksteel and his battalion of steel jaws are waiting for their leader and the rest of the Steel Jaw Army to come back after invading another planet.

Eventually, a large spacecraft lands on the planet. The door opens and a small squadron of steel jaws exits the ship. Then crimson the supreme commander appears. Darksteel is confused as he thought Steel Saw X was coming. Crimson tells Darksteel that Steel Jaw X will be here soon and that Crimson is checking on them ahead of time. Crimson asks Darksteel if everything has gone well since the Steel Jaw Army was gone. Darksteel tries to ensure Crimson that nothing has changed since the Steel Jaw Army left. But Crimson will let her self decide that and demands to be shown the foundry. Darksteel takes Crimson to a massive factory where all the steel jaws are made. As they enter the factory, they go through the different stages of the steel jaw building process. Darksteel then shows Crimson a board that shows how many steel jaws have been built. As Crimson looks at the board, she gets mad. She tells Darksteel that the numbers are half of what is required. Just then a massive ship lands outside.

All the steel jaws gather around the ship, including Crimson and Darksteel. As the doors open, a massive lineup of steel jaws come out. Then a giant steel jaw exits the ship. It was Steel Jaw X. Crimson greets Steel Jaw X before he asks her about the steel jaw production line. Crimson tells Steel Jaw X That the numbers are not acceptable. Steel Jaw X turns to Darksteel and tells him that he had 1 job, keep the steel jaw manufacturing numbers up. Steel Jaw X then tells Darksteel that he has a new job for him. Then Steel Jaw X, Crimson, Darksteel, and Steel Jaw X's assistant, Carnage, head toward a small building. There, Steel Jaw X asks a small steel jaw if it has found a new planet to take over. The small steel jaw says yes and pulls up a picture of none other than earth. The steel jaw tells Steel Jaw X that this planet has a higher population count then any of the other planets they have taken over. He also says that he believes a remnant population of Meltonians may have escaped to that planet. Steel Jaw X tells Darksteel that he will go to that planet and survey the area to make sure it is good for takeover. Darksteel tells Steel Jaw X that he will gather his battalion and leave right away. But Steel Jaw X tells him that he will not bring a battalion for he is no longer a commander. Instead, he will bring Carnage only. Darksteel tries to protest, but Steel Jaw X knocks him to the ground and uses his laser to melt a giant S on Darksteel's side. Steel Jaw X tells Darksteel that he is now forever a scout before telling him to get out. Steel Jaw X tells Carnage that he now works with Darksteel and Crimson that she now has control over Darksteel's battalion.
