Luoyang Prefecture, late Song Dynasty
At the ripe age of 28 I was older than most of the men who survived the endless wars that seemed to litter the land. I knew that the next meal was never promised, coming from a poor family I was sold off to the nearby army when I was 15 and I had been fighting every damn day since. Born defective and an abomination, they called me a monster long before I ever knew what the word meant. Born sickly wasn't enough for the gods to punish me, no they made sure that I looked even more grotesque than a starving child. Four arms...a nice normal set right where they should be, but beneath the skin waiting to be of use was a secondary set of arms, [A single arm on either side of my ribcage, I would find out much later in life that the arms that jut from my mid section are in fact all solid muscle and bone merged into something new for the human body. They connect to nothing but a single rib but is nearly unbreakable compared to the rest of my body.] that allowed for a more fluid style of swordsmanship that was a must during the period.
A single general saw fit to keep me around, quickly I rose in the ranks once I reached eighteen years old. I outclassed him in speed and even rose to his rank...that is if I was not born to the impoverished. They killed that general as soon as peace had come to the tail end of the Song dynasty...before even more warring periods to come...but I have trailed off, I think you all need to know this part of my life so that what I am about to tell you makes a bit more sense, or at the very least will help shine me in a better light.
It was nearly winter when I first tried my luck at summoning a demon, I started out small and I found out immediately that no matter what level or strength a demon is they will always have the last laugh.
I had wished for a life with all the luxuries that I never had as I had grown, so I searched for months for something that could offer me wealth and fame. I need not for youth only the ability to thrive in the now. So I found a spell to summon Yaoguai of wealth and wisdom, killing an entire chicken coop full of chickens in my first failed attempts at summoning the demon. Only getting angry and screaming with rage did anything happen. On the second week of attempts did the creature I would refer to as Kon crawl from the shadows and greet me with its disgusting visage. It stunk worse than anything I could have ever imagined, covered in wet fur that smelled as if a mongrel had rolled around in filth then soiled itself over...and over again. It stood three feet tall and spoke in something akin to tossing a handful of stones into a blender....sorry trailing off again...I apologize...where was I?
He spoke to me telling me its brimstone name, but I could not understand it...something I would regret. Telling me that if I sacrificed my first born child, that I would have a life of endless riches....but he threatened that if I reneged on the deal in anyway shape or form that I would regret it for all ETERNITY or until the shadows corrupt me fully. I shook off the fear of what the punishment would be for betraying the contract. I did exactly what he wanted, cutting palms of one another and shaking on it mixing our blood for eternity it told.
The next day a gorgeous woman stumbled into the small town I had been trying to live in, she was immediately smitten with me telling me often in that first year how "unworldy charming" I was, that my entire demeanor was entrancing as if magic. When that is exactly what it was, the little demon who I now was a client of had given me luck personified. Women fawned over me constantly and when SHE came into my life I thought she was just another of a long list of one night stands who would fall out of love with my so called charm the next day, but she never did for an entire year I was her entire world. The luck I was granted allowed us to amass a small fortune and then create a small business that allowed for even more money to flow, I was for the first time in my life able to do anything I wanted. So as any full fledged energy filled man my age did...I trained constantly in every single art style I could find and subsequently buy my way into having every master I could think of, I was partial to simple grapples but by the end of that first year of wealth I knew a handful of martial arts and my wife and I traveled all over the world (well....China...we thought the earth was flat...and I am a chicken shit okay...) and I was happy....even when she told me she was with child.
Year 1266
Jin Sung...he was a gorgeous child, and for five years I watched him grown in slow motion it seemed because I always knew in the furthest part of my mind that at any moment he could be taken away from us. So I prepared and researched everything money could allow me to, finding a few mentions of how to trap and even curse a demon into doing even more for the one who cursed it. All I wanted was to keep my family safe from the creature.....
On Jin's fifth birthday the damned foul-smelling creature arrived in the dead of night, crawling in through the boy's window. He almost had him out the window before I entered the room stomping just loud enough to get its attention, without saying a word I snapped my fingers, and my son was pulled from its grip and tucked back into his crib. Another snap of my fingers and the demon was in the air and then pinned to the wall. He started to curse at me then beneath the rage I heard him begin to laugh, his form began to change slowly but I waited no longer, and I started the incantation to curse him. Grabbing a nearby satchel that my wife had made for us to carry our sons' things, I gripped it tight and smiled finishing the incantation....nothing happened at first only the demon growing from a three-foot tall nothing into something that quite literally made me soil myself. He was six feet tall in a manner of seconds and his voice clear as normal speech.
"They never listen when I tell them my true name....if only you lot did would you know that Belial...one of the first to fall has graced you with his presence..." it tries to free itself from the wall only to snap emptily at the air. I watch as his eyebrows furrow in confusion, never being in this situation before he almost looked scared for the briefest of moments because what he conveyed next was unbridled rage. He tried to scream at me only for his scream to stretch out into an agonizing shrill as he spiraled from the wall and slowly into the bag I had in a death grip in my right hand. The incantation finally began to show that it even worked, but as Belial slowly spiraled and became untangled and slid into the bag he spoke deep and with pure rage
"You curse me?!!! You pitiful human, I leave you with what you asked for...and MORE. Until your now pure soul becomes corrupt and black as the night you will live...."
Present
As I sit in front of the most recent poor bastard to find an interest in me and tell him that not only did the demon known as Belial curse me with an incredibly irritating form of immortality, he also gifted me a single caveat to him being cursed and banished to a purse....said curse can now hold an awful lot more than a normal purse. I stop talking and open the small bag on my hip and pull out my entire collection of original Hanzo Hattori katana's and other various weapons I look up at his slack jaw and smile returning to my endless jabbering with
"So to answer your question with an incredibly long answer I am just a shy forty years away from eight hundred years old....and I have no idea where I am....but I smelled the energy and followed it to....you....so can you please tell me how I.....wandered into someplace called W.E.I.R.D?"
