So Scary 7- The Right Hand of George Elwin

George Elwin had a secret. Ever since he was born, he noticed that being different from the rest of human society have crucial consequences. And that he had to be careful enough to hide his true nature. His parents have sought help from Pastor David Richardson back in New England. But George was willing to visit the pastor alone, and notify his condition. It was considered as a birth defect. One that cannot help verify the facts of what had caused the condition in the first place. Therefore, George's life wasn't normal.

When he visited the pastor, he told him everything. His life, work, and including the condition itself... Therefore, Pastor Richardson have listened very carefully. George said one time that his right hand had taken over his body, and there were often times that he tried to control it. His right hand was deformed. Like a creature born out of human existence. But the fact remained clear that George wasn't human. Or maybe, he was considered as half-human.

Pastor Richardson had the knowledge of such forbidden things. But he changed his position to that of the Pentecostal Church. He wanted to serve God's purpose by doing good things, instead of dwelling upon the dark arts. Yes, Pastor Richardson used to be that kind of person. But not anymore.

When he heard about George's story, he figured that the man whose right hand, was desperate enough to get rid of it. George even tried cutting his hand off. Pastor Richardson said, "I would suggest you look elsewhere to cure that condition of yours. I'm not in a position to help at this point. Because as a pastor, I can only tell you this. That I shall pray for you. I do have contacts that could help you. Although I used to dwell upon those forbidden things a long time ago, my former colleagues are willing to help you." And with this information, George have taken a long journey to try and cure his condition.

But there were several things that happened along the journey. George had woken up while traveling by train. He realized that he did something wrong as always. There was blood all over the floor. He knew it was his right hand that did it. Not him. He was too afraid for his own life, only to be blamed by the other passengers, who might notice the blood anytime soon. He remembered that it was a woman who shared the seat with him, since his arrival. George tried cutting his hand again with a sharp knife, but it still wouldn't let him.

George Elwin was powerless. At this point, he would eventually kill any living soul that was present. And for that reason only, he jumped off the train, and then rolled over the ground. He had brought his belongings with him. He couldn't afford to make a person known that such evidence would point against him. And it could also ruin his reputation as a businessman. Working at the lumber factory have provided him great pride in his work, and he had to wrap his right hand with bandages in order to lie about his injury. But his employees began to question the hand itself. One of them had said, "How long he's going to keep that bandage on? Is that injury really serious?" The other employee had said, "How should I know? I'm not a doctor." Now that George found himself alone in the wilderness, he tried to get some sleep. But he was having nightmares of being turned into a creature. He didn't want to be that sort of thing. Such existence would even prove futile to him. He often asked himself, "Why me? Why must I go through this pain and suffer with this bloody hand?" And he looked at it. He was disgusted by its appearance. He was also disgusted by himself. He managed to hide his secret for this long. But now, he thought that would not be the case.

There were some robbers abound afoot. One of them have noticed a man, who tried to sleep on the ground. He said, "Well, would you like at that? He looks rich, don't you think?" His partner said, "I don't know. But you could be right. Let's do it."

So, off they went to rob the poor man whose right hand controlled his entire life. But there were advantages to this sort of thing. Despite his richness, and a high importance of a businessman, he was attacked at some point in time, and that his right hand had saved his life. But in the same process, it would also want to kill other kinds of people. People like the one, who was brutally killed for no apparent reason.

The two robbers have approached him. George had noticed their arrival and said, "What do you want?"

The man held up a knife. "We want your money. That is if you want to live."

At that statement, George laughed louder than ever. The two robbers stared at each other, and then at the businessman. The robber said, "What's so damn funny?"

George stopped laughing and looked at them. "You know what? Go ahead and kill me. I'm tired of my miserable existence. Go on. Do it."

The robber looked at him, uneasily. "Are you... crazy?"

"As crazy as it sounds, I don't care. Now... Go on. Just do what you have to do." The robber gulped at this strange businessman. Then he said, "Alright... I'll do it if that's what you want." He brought his knife down upon George. But his right hand stopped the robber by holding his grip, and then twisted it.

The robber screamed. He never thought this businessman had sheer strength. At the sight of it, his partner ran away. George Elwin sighed.

The robber said, "You... You b@$t@rd. You broke my arm!"

"Tell that to my hand." He showed his deformity towards him. The robber screamed again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was early morning. George Elwin was tired already. He managed to hitchhike a ride on the deserted road. But later, he killed the driver. He was also tired of killing people. One of these days, he would have to cure his condition, one way or the other. But now, it was too late.

He drove the car as fast as he could. But his right hand wouldn't let him. It even knew that George tried to commit suicide by driving over the cliff. George cried out, "LEAVE ME ALONE! PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!" George tried not to put his right hand on the steering wheel. He cried out again, and this time with sheer enough force, he used his left hand to steer the wheel onward to the right. The car fell down.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

George woke up. He thought he might be dead at this point. But certainly, he was still alive and... injured. He noticed his right hand was finally gone. And he was... happy.

George thought, My God! I'm free! I'm... But the car exploded, and George Elwin's right hand have already escaped.

Next story- The Empty Road.
