So Scary 8- A Christmas Nightmare on Elm Street

Somewhere in Ohio, fires had broken out from an apartment building and families were crying for help. A firefighter named Joshua Walton have arrived to save the day. He rushed through the fires and managed to save the children in time. But the intense heat of the building made him sweaty like Hell. He had been prepared for this mission, since he was trained at the academy about a couple of years back. Now, he was one of the best firefighters in the world. People were cheering for him. It was December 24, 1984, and Josh was too happy to hear their voices.

But the voices died down, when Josh suddenly found himself in some crappy apartment. At first, he thought it was real. How could it be real when he wasn't really there? He got up from the bed, sweating. He had forgotten to turn the fan off in the bedroom. He still couldn't figure it out the heat wave.

Christ! It's so hot in here. He looked outside the window and noticed a Christmas parade on the streets of Ohio. But the fact remained clear that Josh had no fuc**** idea of what day it was. Most likely, he had been drunk with his best friends.

"Oh yeah... That's right. It's Christmas Eve. I came back from Chad's house and then..." He stopped thinking about it, and then shrugged. He wore his clothes and went downstairs to see the parade. There, a lot of people stood in front of the biggest festival in the world. He remembered clearly that this was the same apartment building, which had been set on fire, and that he was the hero. What tough luck. Josh had no prospects in life, and ended up working in the Donut shop. His boss had just called in to see if he was available for the night. But Josh had completely forgotten about it.

"Hey, Josh. What's up?"

"Chad? What are you doing here?"

"Just enjoying the parade with my girlfriend." A girl named Ashley smiled at him.

"Oh... Hi, Ashley. How you're doing?"

"Doing fine. Looks like you're alone. Maybe we should hang out sometime."

"Um... Ashley," Chad whispered to her. Then Ashley giggled at the thought of it.

"That's fine, Chad," Josh said. "You two go and have some fun."

"Are you sure?" Chad said.

"No sweat. I'll be fine."

"Okay, buddy." Both the lovebirds left him alone. Josh sighed and wished that he had a girlfriend.

-------------------------------------------------------------

He walked alone at night after the parade was over. He whistled and stopped. There was a woman, standing there in the alleyway. It looked like she was waiting for someone. Josh walked towards her, hoping that he could hook up with her as soon as possible. After all, some other guy would certainly blow her brains out, while he had to wait for his next turn. Until then, he would fall asleep.

"Hey there," the hooker said. "My... You look handsome. Got any cash?"

"Um... I'm all out. Sorry."

"I see." She chewed her bubblegum, and then popped.

Her appearance seemed strange enough for Josh, considering that he had a bad luck with the ladies in the past. He didn't realize a hooker like her, could wear a red and black-striped shirt. It must be some Christmas outfit, he thought.

"Tell you what," the hooker said. "Since it's Christmas Eve, I'll be available for free. What do you say?"

"Um... sure. Why not?"

The hooker smiled at him, and waited for Josh to lead the way. Josh said, "Oh... right." He walked back towards his apartment, and checked around to see if anyone was noticing them.

"No worries," the hooker said. "Nobody cares if a hooker is coming to stay at some dump, if you know what I mean." She laughed at that silly joke. Josh didn't seem to find it funny because he remembered that his landlord didn't want any hooker to stay along with some lonely guy to screw around for the night.

Oh well, Josh thought. Here goes nothing. He continued leading the way, and smelled something burning. "Hey... Did you smell that?"

"Smell what?" The hooker said.

"Oh... nothing. It must be my imagination."

The hooker laughed at him, thinking that he was crazy. "I hope you don't smoke a lot."

"You mean pot?"

"Yeah, what else?"

"I assure you that I don't do that kind of stuff anymore." He opened the door to his apartment room, and let the hooker inside.

"Nice." She looked around the place, and then put her handbag on the table.

"You wanna drink?" Josh offered her. "I have some wine in the fridge."

"Sure." She stared at him, and even at his back. While Josh was preparing for some wine, he couldn't help thinking of that strange, red and black-striped shirt that the hooker was wearing.

After pouring the wine on her glass, he gave it to her. "Red wine," he said. "You'll love it."

The hooker sipped her drink.

"My... This tastes good."

"It's French wine. I got it from my last trip to Paris."

"Oh yeah. That's cool." She looked around the room again, and then stared back at him.

"So..." Josh sounded nervous. "Um... How are we going to do this?"

"I thought you would never ask." The hooker put the glass back on the table, and began to strip her clothes off. Josh began to feel the heat, coming over his body, as if someone had increased the temperature in this room.

"Is it getting hot, Josh?" The hooker said. She revealed her gorgeous body. For that, Josh gulped.

"Are you listening to me, Josh? Pay close attention and tell me what you see."

"I see..." For a moment there, he thought he was going to see the hooker's whole package. Instead, she revealed her burned, naked body.

"What... What the hell?"

"You're not in hell, Josh. The name's Freddy. Freddy Krueger!" The female hooker changed to the fearsome boogeyman in everyone's personal nightmare. He raised his gloved hand, showing the sharpest knives embedded on it. Josh tried to escape, but he slipped and hit the floor with his head.

"You ain't going anywhere, kid. You know what I am. HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!"

Josh got up from the floor, and Freddy slashed his chest. Blood spewed all over the place.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"Josh! Josh!" It was his best friend, Chad calling out to him. Josh suddenly woke up from his dreadful nightmare, and found himself back in his apartment.

"Where... Where am I?"

"Um... Your apartment?"

"Huh?" Josh was confused. "But... we were at the Christmas parade, and then you and Ashley..."

"The Christmas parade? Dude... That was so last year. This is February, man. Christmas is over."

"Oh... Okay."

"Are you still smoking?"

"No, I don't do that $h!t anymore."

"Okay, just checking. Man..." He shook his head.

"Where's Ashley?"

"Oh, she's at her house. She told me to invite you over there. You know, hang out?"

"Oh... yeah."

"Yeah... Hey, what's that smell?"

"Oh... $h!t. Am I..."

"Am I what?"

Josh couldn't say anything after that. He wanted to know if he was still dreaming. Then he heard the shouts from outside the apartment building. He looked out the window and gasped. It was the Christmas parade.

"Um... Chad? This ain't February."

"I know it isn't, Joshy boy. I'm just fooling around! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!"

Josh looked at him and screamed.

Next story- Unholy Night.

@the_impersonator:

Loved it. I don't think you actually captured the essence of Freddy Krueger, but you did write one hell of a good story! The best part was you had me hooked to the end, wondering what was going to happen next, and you ended it on a high note. Again very good read!
