Poll Vampires or Werewolves: which do you prefer? (51 votes)
Werewolves for me.
Werewolves for me.
Werewolves in a stomp.
Vampire.
Werewolves. They can at least enjoy the sun.
Yeah, but they also sniff each others crotches and have to check for fleas.
Werewolves in a stomp.
Eh, I think people are mainly focusing the Hollywood representation of Vampires.
The original mythological Vampires are actually sort of lame.
@irishx: But half those crotches belong to females.
@baldur_odinson: I'm not into females with hairy legs and armpits let alone full body hair.
@irishx: I'm sure it wouldn't matter if you were a werewolf, too.
Have you ever read Black Queen vs Grey Hulk?

not atm
I find vampires to be far more fleshed out in writing than Werewolves. From having cult empires, the ability to lead, converse with, and use multiple magic like abilities has always been a big reason for me to like them more than Werewolves. Who obviously have cooler transformations but losing their sanity in most cases. But it depends on writer there are some in marvel and dc that have good stories. But Physical strength, speed, durability, and super sensing is great but a vampire bite offers those same things and more such as hypnotism and transformation into bats depending on writer.
@jagernutt: I mean in general, sure some movies will have different rules but I mean as far as both I see more similarities that Vamps share than Werewolves. Yeah depending on the universe sometimes both Vamps and WW's are overpowered, in Underworld for instance the WW's are kind of OP since they can literally extract silver bullets when shot pushing it out of their body then instantly healing....which was just narly lol
Vampire Elders seem overpowered in Underworld. But as far as the stories that follow the more classical Vampire lore such as Bram stokers Dracula. Vampires are pretty much at the top. In the classical stories Vampires transform into Werewolves and control the weather, telekinetic and telepathy and can transform into most and use all sorts of high level sorcery. Dracula untold is more accurate than a lot of the more modern tribal Vampires vs Werewolf tv shows type stories that we see in recent times . The original Fright Night movies are a good example.
Yeah they were pretty powerful but Selene also beat one Viktor on her own without any buffs. The wolves which were cool in UW was that they could just morph at will, which you rarely if ever see in other universes with Werewolves. It's usually out of their control. Oh yeah Bram Stoker's classic Dracula, his Dracula will be different from say Blade 3's Dracula. Yeah depending on who's writing Dracula will determine what he can morph into, some limited to bats others he can morph into other animals. In LOTR the dude who can morph into a giant Wolf Bear looking creature at will which is cool. Fright Night was a fun movie, the remake even wasn't bad but yeah Fright Night Jerry was pretty powerful though like most Vamps the sun did him in.
Selene didn't really beat Viktor in a face to face fight. She snuck attacked him from behind by cutting his head in two when he wasn't expecting it. And Viktor destroyed a powerful alpha Lycan with his bare hands. Bram Stokers Dracula was written (if I recall correctly) in 1897.
@Jagernutt: Yeah but she still killed him, you can say the same about that fight in the beginning when he sucker punched her while she wasn't looking. He was expecting it since he knew she was going to fight him he just wasn't fast enough to take her and Michael on even for an Elder. That wasn't a powerful Lycan that was a regular Lycan, it's not like he beat Lucian who was powerful. Lucian proved in the 3rd movie prequel that he was fast enough to steal the pendant around Viktor's neck and jump out of the window causing a problem for Viktor for centuries.

I called Raze an alpha because of because he was Lucien's number 2 as stated in rise of the Lycans. And Lucien himself stated that he needed Michael in order to defeat Viktor.
Yeah but we never got confirmation that that was Raze who Viktor killed, I thought he got shot by Viktor's men.
Yeah, that's true but as far as the bullets are concerned UV bullets kill the Vampires in UW (not just the liquid ones that go into the bloodstream) the regular silver bullets for the Lycans were shown not to kill them as well as weapons in general, if you remember Selene threw those ninja things at them and they just scratched them where you see them with scars turning back into human form at the beginning.
Depending on the movie there's more powerful wolves higher than Elders, Lucian etc as well like Quint Lane.
To me it seemed pretty clear that it was Viktor who killed Raze.
As far as Selenes ninja things, I've seen them take down Lycan in Evolution.
Quint Lane was arguably the most powerful person in the entire Underworld franchise, with post Evolution Selene being the second most powerful. But he was being genetically experimented on by his dad to enhance his abilities.
So I just read up to recap and watched the end, so there's nothing definitely saying that Viktor killed Raze. To be safe, I just re-read the synopsis nothing says that Viktor killed Raze in the foot notes, details of the film either, just that Viktor and his hencemen killed some Wolves but not all of them since at the end where you see Viktor get killed by Selene and Michael there, they back off. I believe Raze just got killed by getting shot to death during the chaos.
Yeah but those were weaker lycans, the ones under Lucian were more experienced, older more powerful ones than standard Wolves. They even state at one point in the series with age, the wolves becomes more adaptable, powerful like how Lucian can extract silver bullets. Not every wolf can do this but the more experienced, older ones etc can do this but takes years to master.
Yeah in a tier list I'm sure Quint, Selene amped, Michael and the Vampire Elders would be at the top to bottom. In hand to hand I'd probably lean Wolves over the normal Vampires since they were overpowering them and biting their heads off literally. Yeah he was enhanced as well as Selene and the Elder Vampires like Viktor we learned got bit by a former Elder in a flashback, he was originally human like Selene was.
